Otao Kitchen’s private NDIS-friendly cooking classes offer a fully customised experience designed to build independence, enhance daily living skills, and encourage creativity in the kitchen.

Our one-on-one private cooking lessons provide personalised attention from an expert chef, allowing you to learn at your own pace in a safe and inclusive environment. Whether you're new to cooking or want to refine your skills, our tailored approach ensures you get the most out of your experience.

On the Day – What to Expect

  • Duration: A 4 session x3-hour hands-on private cooking session with an expert chef.
  • Customised Learning: Work at your own pace, focusing on essential skills such as:
    • Knife handling & meal prep
    • Texture balancing & food safety
    • Cooking techniques for different cuisines
  • Step-by-Step Guidance: Your chef will walk you through recipe preparation, cooking, and plating techniques.
  • Cooking & Enjoying Your Meal: Prepare and savor a full-course meal featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients.
  • Support Worker Assistance: We recommend bringing an NDIS-funded support worker to help with shopping, prep, and cleanup for a more affordable and efficient experience.=

How to Book & Use Your NDIS Funding


Self-Managed Participants

  • Book online & choose "Pay by Invoice" at checkout.
  • Receive an invoice for easy reimbursement from NDIS.

Plan-Managed Participants

  • Email us your details at hello@otaokitchen.com.au, including:
    • NDIS Participant Name & Number
    • Plan Manager Contact Details
    • Class Details (Date, Location, Support Worker Info)
  • We will invoice your plan manager directly.

 NDIS Support Worker Ticket

  • If your support worker is cooking alongside you, they will need a ticket.
  • Use Category 4 funding (Assistance with Social & Community Participation).

  • 14+ days before event: Free rescheduling or 50% refund of deposit.
  • 7-14 days before event: No refund of deposit, rescheduling allowed.
  • Within 7 days: No refund; full charge applies.
